Gadar was the highest grossing movie in 2001, it was an historic blockbuster which was released 20 years ago. Well, in the age of remake everyone wants to have a sequel of this cult movie, so a few days ago the film maker announced that Sequel 2 is going to be released soon as they have been working on it for more than 15 years.

The first movie revolved around the story of what happened during the partition. Sunny Deol who is recently seen in the movie Chup is the protagonist of the movie who conveyed each and every emotion perfectly.

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha Story Overview

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is a historical movie which is about the partition which happened in 1947. The story revolves around a truck driver named Tara Singh who falls in love with a muslim girl, Sakina who is from Pakistan. Furthermore, they both marry each other and have a son together.

Sakina thinks that her father has died in the Amritsar riots but later on she finds out her father is alive and lives in Pakistan. Moreover, she contacts him and her father, also the mayor of Lahore arranges so that her daughter can fly back to Pakistan.

After reaching Lahore alone, Sakina finds out the intention of her father calling her back to Pakistan. Ashraf Ali forces Sakina to forget her family and start a new family in Pakistan only. On the other hand, Tara Singh plans to cross the border so that he can take Sakina back to India.

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha has some violent death scenes which can make someone feel uneasy. This movie is definitely not for faint hearted people but if you are from Gen Z and have not watched this movie till now then you should give it a try.

The movie unravels many truths and our history about what really happened during the partition. The story is based on the life of Boota Singh.

Buzz Around Gadar 02 Release Date

Well on a very auspicious festival, Sunny Deol posted on his instagram that Gadar 02 is going to be released soon. He captioned it “After two decades the wait is finally over! On the auspicious day of Dussehra, Presenting to you the motion poster of #Gadar2. The Katha Continues…,” Furthermore, he tagged his whole team.

Fortunately the poster got 714,723 views from which we can tell how much people are excited about the sequel of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Just after uploading the poster, people flooded the post with so many comments also.

After some analysis we got to know that people are continuously searching for Gadar 2 release date, Gadar 2 release date 2022, Gadar 2 release date sunny deol and more. Well we understand your excitement but the movie is releasing after many years. The whole cast has to perform really well and that needs time.

There are chances that Gadar 2 will be released in 2023. According to me, the movie will release around this time only in 2023.

Gadar 2 Star Cast

The teaser which Zee Studios and Sunny Deol posted tells that all the old characters are going to be a part of the movie. Sunny Deol as Tara Singh, Ameesha Patel as Sakina and Utkarsh Sharma as Jeet, son of Tara Singh and Sakeena . The filmmaker said “I feel, this is the first film in India wherein the actor who was a kid in the first part, returns to play an older character in the sequel.”

Other information about cast members has not been released. Will Amrish Puri be a part of Gadar 02? We don’t have any information right now but I will keep you updated about it. During an interview with Hindustan Times , Sunny Deol expressed how Tara Singh’s role is perfect for him.

He said “The character made a special place in the audiences’ hearts. People back then had started calling me Tara Singh. Such was the impact. It will be interesting to see how his story pans out this time around. It remains one of my most favourite performances to date.”

Gadar 2 Plot (Expected)

The teaser says “The Katha Continues” which means the old story is going to continue. The plot has not been revealed yet by the filmmaker or star cast. The filmmaker/team once said that they have been working on the sequel for like 15 years.

In an interview with PTI in 2019, someone disclosed that, “We have been working on the Gadar sequel for 15 years. Gadar will show the story of Tara (Sunny Deol), Sakeena (Ameesha Patel), and Jeet (their son). The story will move ahead with the India-Pakistan angle. Gadar is incomplete without it.”

Well 15 years is a really long time. By all these statements our expectations are just getting high. Now I really think that Gadar 2 is going to rock the cinemas.

Just after the teaser the filmmaker and star cast are sharing some small moments on the set of Gadar 2. Earlier, the lead actress posted a picture where she was dressed as Sakeena, Sunny Deol was dressed as Tara Singh. She wrote “GADAR 2 muhurat shot, the General was kind enough to grace the occasion @surrender .singh1974@rohit_jaykay (sic).” Looks like the shooting has started.

The director Anil Sharma said “A lot of people who loved Gadar are skeptical of the sequel. Their only worry is about us doing justice to the legacy of the first part. This just tells us about their love towards Gadar. Sunny Sir, Shaktimaan Ji (writer), Zee and I have taken a very responsible call of making Gadar 2.” Furthermore he said “Much like Gadar, even the sequel is in the period set up because it is a continuation of what happens in the lives of Tara, Sakina and Jeete. The world wants to know more about them. Tara Singh has become a folklore, he is like Superman, soft at heart but powerful,”
