The Storyline of the Movie Mission Raniganj
The movie opens in 1989 in the small village of Raniganj where all the men work on a Raniganj coalfield, which is the first coal mine in India, established by East India Company. Like any other day, they all go to work and some of them decide to do overtime. They distribute themselves into different groups and enter the different tunnels to do mining.
In order to move ahead and get a lump of more coal, they have to do small blasts inside the tunnel. Unfortunately, one of the blasts hit the area which is just below the river, and it resulted in a flood inside the tunnel. Some of the workers succeed in rescuing themselves but others fail to face the flow of water.
The next day, the news spread everywhere, and the villagers began to protest in front of the coal mining gate. Meanwhile, the protagonist of the movie Jaswant Singh Gill arrives at the spot and ensures villagers that he will bring back them all.
Later, the meeting is held among the higher officers of the coal mine along with mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who takes responsibility to rescue the ones who are stuck inside the coal mine.
