The Storyline of the Movie ‘Half Girlfriend’
The movie revolves around Madhav (Arjun Kapoor), who gets into St. Stephen’s College Delhi through sports quota.
Though Madhav is a good basketball player, he lacks English speaking and writing proficiency, making it hard for him to settle well in the college crowd. While Madhav is on the basketball court, he meets an upper-class girl, Riya Somani (Shraddha Kapoor), and learns she is allowed temporary admission based on a sports quota. After their first encounter, the two play basketball regularly and become close friends.
When Madhav tells his roommate about his crush on Riya, they encourage him to confess, but Riya refuses and asks Madhav to remain as good friends. Madhav is discouraged but not to the point that he stops pining for Riya. But fate had other plans for the both of them.
Madhav is devasted and heartbroken when he hears that Riya is getting married. He tries to stop her, but she goes away anyway, leaving Madhav to focus on completing his college. But it is not the end of their love story.
