The Storyline of the Movie Satyaprem Ki Katha
Satyaprem alias Sattu is an unemployed boy who fails in his finals of LLB. The movie begins with his dream of a grand marriage but in reality, he is struggling to find the right girl to marry. He gets taunts from everyone except his father as he is his only friend with whom he shares all of his secrets. His father asks him if there is any girl he likes to which Sattu says he still dreams of a girl he met last year.
The scene shifts to one year ago when Sattu saw Katha at a Navaratri function for the very first time. She performs over there and Sattu falls in love with her at first sight. After Katha’s performance, he tries to confess his love but she reveals that she already has a boyfriend named Tapan. Sattu asks about the status of her relationship and says if she is not serious, he is ready to wait to spend his whole life with her. Meanwhile, Katha’s boyfriend arrives and Sattu feels bad seeing them together.
The scene shifts to the current time when Sattu’s father tells him the news about Katha’s breakup. He became quite happy with this news and attempts to attend the function where Katha performs every year. While looking for her, he learns that she is ill and resting in her home. Sattu rushes to her house to confess his love but the guard doesn’t allow him to enter. So, Sattu silently enters from the backside.
When he reaches her, he finds out that she has cut her hand and blood is oozing from it. Sattu takes her to the hospital and admits her. Why did she attempt suicide? Will Sattu be able to confess his love to her in this situation? Forms the rest of the story.
