The Storyline of the Movie 83
In Mumbai, the BCC official gets an invitation letter for the Cricket World Cup 1983, but none of the employees are excited about it. Meanwhile, the team manager, PR Man Singh, ensures them that this time, they will come back as winners.
Along with PR Man Singh, the whole team reaches London and while waiting for the bus, they witness the West Indies team who is the strongest team at that time, surrounded by media and fans. After that, they reach their rooms, take a rest, and later join the rest of the team.
On the next day, during net practice, the team captain Kapil Dev informs the team about the starting four warm-up matches and they get defeated badly in all four, leading to hopelessness for the team members. But Kapil Dev doesn’t lose hope and during the press conference, he confidently answers the reporter that they are here to win.
Following the journey of the team led by captain Kapil Dev, this movie shows how our players overcame all odds to win the prestigious tournament of 1983.
