‘Chhatriwali’ translates to a woman with an umbrella. This Indian Hindi-Language Romantic Comedy film was released on 20 January 2023. The film stars Rakul Preet Singh, Sumeet Vyas, Satish Kaushik, Rajesh Tailang and Dolly Ahluwalia. 

The film focuses on the taboo of talking openly about safe sex and male contraceptives.

The Storyline of the Movie ‘Chhatriwali’

The movie revolves around Sanya Dhingra (Rakul Preet Singh), who is a chemistry genius. She lives in Karnal with her mother and a younger sister. Sanya is unemployed and is desperately looking for a suitable job. Instead of landing a high-paying job, Sanya is approached by Ratan Lamba (Satish Kaushik) to work as a condom quality tester at his company. 

Sanya gets furious at first, but agrees on one condition, that no one should be aware of her work, to which Ratan agrees. Sanya lies to both her mother and her love interest about her job. Even after she gets married, Sanya continues to lie to her in-laws, claiming to work in an umbrella company. 

But the truth was bound to come out someday, and till then, Sanya had already started to see her job in a new light.
