The Storyline of the Movie Godday Godday Chaa
The movie spanned the era of the early 80s and 90s, when it was not possible for women to attend weddings, or baarat, to be precise. The protagonist of the movie, Rani (Sonam Bajwa), makes different plans to make it possible for women to be a part of wedding processions, but in the era of patriarchy, it becomes difficult for her to make her dream come true. The village men stand against her, except her husband, who is beside her in every move. However, all her family women and ladies of the village accompany her in her bold moves. Rani is an educated girl married to landlord Jatt Bagga (Gitaj Bindrakhia).
Rani is helped by her younger sister Nikko (Tania), as Rani arranges the alliance between her sister Nimmo and brother-in-law Pinta (Gurjazz), and she takes every woman of her village into Pinta’s baarat. What happens next is worth watching.
