Inspired by true events, Yami Gautam’s ‘Lost’ navigates through the life of a crime reporter who takes up the story of a young theatre activist who disappears all of a sudden.
Director of Pink, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, is back again with yet another interesting story in ‘Lost’. With a stellar star cast that includes Yami Gautam, Pankaj Kapur, and Rahul Khanna, among others, and their note-worthy performances, Aniruddha makes sure to engage you throughout those 124 minutes in the movie.
Vidhi is a lively and ambitious crime reporter. One day she finds a young woman crying at the police station about the disappearance of her 26-year-old brother Ishan. Feeling pity for her, Vidhi decided to take up this case, but she wasn’t ready for what was about to come her way. Throughout her investigation, shocking revelations were made; one such accusation was Ishaan being a part of a Naxalite terror outfit, but his sister, friends, and ex-girlfriend constantly dismissed this argument as false.
Meanwhile, Vidhi continues to find clues and links to trace Ishaan over a span of seven months; his ex-girlfriend, Ankita Chauhan, movies into a new apartment gifted to her by a politician; she gets a ticket and also ends up winning the elections.
However, Vidhi fails to find something concrete enough to get any positive results. Overwhelmed, she searches for the hashtag lost on Twitter, and the results leave her wide-eyed and shocked. To say the least, there were thousands of tweets of people reporting their missing loved ones.
Around the same time, Vidhi starts to notice that two goons are following her, and soon enough, her grandfather starts receiving death threats with the aim of threatening Vidhi to give up on Ishaan’s story. But she doesn’t and carries on with her investigation.

The movie touches on sensitive topics like caste-based discrimination, Naxalites, Maoists, and jihadis. In one such scene, it is difficult for Vidhi to explain to her estranged husband why Dalits turning into Maoists is a big deal; this clearly highlights the privilege of the likes of him.
Will Vidhi succeed in finding Ishaan? Will she stand up against all odds that come her way and bring to fruition what she began? Or will she become disheartened due to the lack of evidence and give up the story midway? All of these questions will be answered in the movie, and if you want to know where you can watch and download the movie, then read further.
