An ATS chief goes on a mission to hunt down sleeper cells in Mumbai city after someone tips him off about a big attack that is being planned by a group of terrorists.
The movie ‘Sooryavanshi’ is an Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Rohit Shetty. It is the fourth installment of Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe. Starring Akshay Kumar, seen in Raksha Bandhan, Katrina Kaif, and Jackie Shroff, the film was initially set to be released on 24 March 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film has so far received positive criticism from the public and media, eventually becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2021 and 47th highest-grossing Indian film of all time with a gross of ₹294.91 Crore over its budget of ₹160 Crore.

The film starts during the 1933 Mumbai blasts, where Surya’s (Akshay Kumar) parents die. The mastermind behind the Blast was Bilal Ahmed (Kumud Mishra), who ran off and sought refuge with Omar Hafeez (Jackie Shroff) in POK. With the help of Omar’s son’s sleeper cell network, they start planning similar attacks for the future. Meanwhile, Surya and his team capture Omar’s son and find out about the Full ton of RDX that had been brought to India, out of which the location of 600 kgs is still unknown. The story moves forward to where Surya is now a DCP and ATS chief. He plans to shut down the sleeper cell network before they can do any damage.
Surya seems to have a perfect job and life, but he finds it difficult to make up with his wife, Dr. Ria Gupta (Katrina Kaif). Their relationship has drifted apart due to a misunderstanding, and Surya is not able to clear the air with her.
While Surya tries to patch things up with his wife, the ATS headquarters receives a tip about the location of the remaining 600 kgs RDX and how it was being used for a big attack planned to take place in Mumbai city.
