The Storyline of the Movie ‘Welcome’
Released in 2007, Welcome is about two contrasting families; one is a mafia family while the other is a very simple family that tries everything to stay away from criminals.
Don Uday Shetty is seeking a simple and virtuous groom for his half-sister, Sanjana but is continuously failing at it because of his criminal background. Uday and Majnu meet a handsome bachelor Rajiv who belongs to a very respectable family, by chance, and the duo is convinced that Rajiv is appropriate for their sister Sanjana. However, Rajiv’s uncle, Dr. Ghunghroo, disapproves of this match because of the criminal background of Uday and Majnu.
In an exciting turn of events, Rajeev and Sanjana meet each other on a cruise; unaware of each other’s family backgrounds, the two fall in love. Dr. Ghunghroo accepts Sanjana for Rajiv without realizing that she is the sister of the same mafia whose proposal he earlier declined.
When Dr. Ghunghroo becomes aware of the blunder made by him and tries to escape the fury of mafia brothers Uday and Majnu. Things take a comical turn when each brother engages in different activities to get Dr. Ghunghroo to agree to the alliance. The entry of three characters, Ishika, a stunning lady; RDX, boss of Uday; and Majnu and his son, Lucky, further complicates things for the brothers, Rajiv and Sanjana.
