The movie ‘Hate Story 2’ is the second installment of the Hate Story film series. The film was released on 18 July 2014, two years after its first installment’s release. ‘Hate Story 2’ is an erotic thriller with fresh actors and a fresh plot. And just like the first movie, this sequel was also a success, grossing ₹31.07, double its original budget. The Trailer of the Movie alone had crossed 7 million views within ten days after its release. Third part i.e. Hate Story 3 of the series was released on 4th December 2015

Fun Fact – The lead actress of Hate Story 2, Surveen Chawla has also featured in the web series Sacred Games.

The Storyline of the Movie ‘Hate Story 2’

The story begins in the middle of the movie when an elderly man finds a struggling, living girl in a buried coffin. He calls the police, and the girl is taken to the hospital right away. However, the officer guarding her door tries to choke the girl before she could give her statement to the police. The girl wakes up and flees before the officer can cause any harm. Inspector Anton (Siddharth Kher) discovers her identity after she has eluded the head inspector. It turns out that the girl is Sonika (Surveen Chawla), a student of photography.

The narrative then returns to the past, where Sonika was secretly kept as a mistress of a very powerful political leader named Mandar Mhatre (Sushant Singh). Sonika wants to leave him, and break off all ties with him, but she is afraid for her life and can’t. 

But when she falls in love with Akshay Bedi (Jay Bhanushali), a friend from college everything changes. The two make plans to run away when Akshay learns about Sonika’s predicament; however, before they can do so, Mandar grabs hold of them, kills Akshay, and buries Sonika alive in a coffin.

 The story now returns to the present, where Sonika attempts to exact revenge for Akshay by assassinating everyone who was involved in his death.
