‘Sacred Games’ is a Hindi web series with two seasons. The first season was released on 06 July 2018, and the second season was released a year after. This series is something new and fresh for Indian society, with it being a neo-noir crime thriller. ‘Sacred Games stars Bollywood sensation Saif Ali Khan, The acting genius Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Radhika Apte.
Who also played a cop in the recent hit Monica o my Darling and Mirzapur fame Pankaj Tripathi, has been praised for its plot and performance by the critics. The first season of this series is also the only Indian series to appear on The New York Times’ ’30 Best International TV Shows of the Decade list.
The Storyline of the series ‘Sacred Games: Season 1’
The first season starts with the episode named ‘Ashwathama’. In this episode, police officer Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) gets a mysterious phone call from a dreaded gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). Gaitonde tells Sartaj that he will blow up the entire city and that the police will not be able to stop him. This call leads to a chase between Gaitonde and Sartaj, where the activities of the corrupt underworld start getting revealed. But just as Sartaj had begun his investigation, news of Gaitonde’s death reached the police force, which led to the suspension of Sartaj. After being suspended, Sartaj starts his private investigation, and many disastrous consequences soon follow.
