The Storyline of City of Dreams- Season 1

The first episode begins with Amey Rao Gaikwad who is a famous politician personality in Mumbai and is in a coma due to an assassination attempt on him. As this news spreads, everyone gets into a dilemma that now who will be his next successor. He has a son named Ashish, who has a hunger for his father’s post, and a daughter named Poornima, who is married and has no interest in politics at all. 

Ashish is a drug addict, womanizer, and short-tempered person who doesn’t know politics while his sister Poornima is inversely intelligent, mature, and aware of Politics. 

While in a discussion with Amey’s political alley, Ashish feels confident to be chosen as the next political heir, and on the other side Poornima wants to be more focused on her career. She wants to keep herself away from politics as her father has suppressed her for her gender status. Amey loves her but never wants her to be a part of politics as according to him it’s not what women do. 

The first few episodes keep the viewers in suspense and the tension boils within the Gaikwad’s family. Ashish is ready to do all the things that will make him step into his father’s shoes and on the other side, a few of the party members advise Poornima to involve herself in it. According to them, Ashish will destroy the privilege of this party and she is more deserving of her father’s position than him.
