The Storyline of the Movie Sanam Teri Kasam
Saraswati alias Saru is a simple librarian girl and belongs to a strict Brahmin family. Her younger sister Kaveri wants to get married soon to his fiance but it is not possible before Saru’s marriage. Saru has been rejected several times for her old-fashioned and boring personality, so it’s been difficult to find her a Brahmin groom.
One day, she gets stuck in the elevator where she meets Inder Lal Parihaar, who lives in the same building as Saru. She learns that he is in a relationship with a renowned fashionista stylist Ruby Malhotra and decides to seek help to makeover herself. She visits their flat while her family is out of town but only finds Inder there. Meanwhile, drunk Ruby arrives and presumes that Inder is cheating on her and throws a bottle at Saru and leaves. Inder shields her but gets badly injured.
Unfortunately, her family arrives early and misunderstands the situation while seeing them together. They both try to convey the truth but her father doesn’t listen to her and immediately abandons her. Disheartened, Saru walks alone on the road when Inder approaches her and promises to find her a suitable Brahmin groom.
