The movie “Tiku Weds Sheru” has been on hold since 2016, as Sai Kabir, the director and the writer of this movie, suffered from a severe illness and was advised to take bed rest. After his recovery, the shooting of this movie was again halted as the sudden demise of Irrfan Khan saddened the entire nation. Moreover, Kangana Ranaut stepped back from the role of the female lead.
In 2021 with enormous optimism, the team decided to continue the movie with a new cast. Sacred Games famed Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is a talented actor of Bollywood has been chosen as the main lead with the stunning actress Avneet Kaur. Although Avneet Kaur has appeared in various Bollywood films such as Mardaani, Mardaani 2, Qarib Qarib Singlle, and more, this movie marks her debut as a female lead actor.

The Storyline of the Movie Tiku Weds Sheru
Shiraz Khan Afghani or “Sheru”, a Mumbaikar who dreams of becoming a film star but works as a junior artist. He gets continuous threats from the men of gangster Shahid Bhai to pay back the loan of Rs.10 lakhs that he took to make a film. But in reality, he never made a film. Now, he has to pay back the money as soon as possible to save his Mumbai house.
In between this chaos, he gets a call from his Bhopal uncle who tells him about a proposal from the girl’s family, that they are interested in getting their girl married to him and also will pay Rs.10 lakhs as a dowry. Sheru scrolls the photo of that girl named Tasleem Khan aka Tiku, and eventually falls in love with her.
Meanwhile, Tiku, who is in love with a boy named Binni Arora, refuses to marry Sheru. But Binni tries to convince her for marrying Sheru by telling her that she can move to Mumbai and fulfill her dream of becoming a film star and also she will be able to meet him in Mumbai after marrying Sheru. Tiku gets convinced by this idea and marries Sheru.
The day they move to Mumbai, Sheru pays back his loan, and Tiku, who is pregnant with Binni’s child, meets Binni. Binni refuses to accept her and the unborn child as he is already married and has a child. What will happen next? Will Sheru give his name to the unborn? Forms the rest of the story.
