Synopsis

The film begins in a BCCI office in Mumbai where the BCCI officials get an invitation to the Cricket World Cup 1983 for Indian Cricket Team. The officials there don’t take it seriously while the team manager PR Man Singh claims that they will come back as winners. 

After that, he reaches London along with the team members. While waiting for their bus to pick up, the two times World Cup winner, the West Indies team arrives there and gets solid attention from the media and fans. Later, the Indian team reaches the hotel and enjoys their rooms. 

The next day, during net practice, team captain Kapil Dev informs his teammates that there are four warm-up matches. Unfortunately, they badly lose in all four. The captain doesn’t lose hope and in the press conference, he positively answers the reporter that they come here to win. 

They visit a ceremony at Buckingham Palace and meet Queen who wishes them good luck for their further matches. On their way back to the hotel, the captain delivers a speech on the bus to motivate his teammates. The World Cup starts and the Indian team gets ready to give a tough fight to the opposite cricket teams.
